CPS Extended Warranty

An extended appliance warranty is a valuable and practical investment that provides peace of mind to consumers when purchasing new household appliances. These warranties offer an extended period of coverage beyond the manufacturer's standard warranty, safeguarding against unexpected breakdowns or malfunctions. By opting for an appliance extended warranty, consumers can protect themselves from costly repairs or replacements, ensuring their appliances remain in optimal working condition for an extended period.

One of the key benefits of an appliance extended warranty is the comprehensive coverage it offers. Unlike the limited protection of a standard manufacturer's warranty, an extended warranty typically covers a broader range of potential issues. Whether it's a refrigerator, washing machine, oven, or other household appliances, an extended warranty can address mechanical failures, electrical malfunctions, and even accidental damage. This comprehensive coverage gives consumers the confidence to use their appliances regularly without worrying about unexpected expenses.

An appliance extended warranty often includes additional perks and services that enhance the overall ownership experience. These perks may include priority service, expedited repairs, and access to a network of qualified technicians. Some extended warranty plans may even offer the convenience of in-home repairs, minimizing the inconvenience for consumers in the event of a breakdown. Such benefits not only save time and effort but also add value to the extended warranty, making it an attractive option for those seeking long-term protection for their valuable household appliances.

Appliance Extended Warranty & Insurance FAQ

Will my coverage continue after my appliance is repaired?

Yes. Your coverage will typically continue until your contract expires. Your coverage will end, however, if your appliance is replaced or the total cost of the repairs meets the maximum liability (the original price you paid for your appliance).

When does my coverage start?

For the standard extended warranty, the contract and coverage kick in after the first year of the manufacturer’s warranty is over. For our DOP and commercial contracts, the contract begins the date you purchase your appliance, with the coverage beginning after the first year of the manufacturer’s warranty is over.

What happens if the service center can't fix it?

If the service center cannot repair your appliance, CPS will provide you with a check for the current market value of your appliance.

What doesn't the standard plan cover?

This extended warranty does not cover any kind of damage, the cost of labor for removal or reinstallation, the cost of labor for unstacking units, and regular maintenance issues.

What does the CPS major appliance extended warranty cover?

CPS' standard appliance plan covers 100% of the parts and labor used in the repairs of your appliance. The warranty also covers all hardware failure and inner machinery failure. This warranty is applicable to dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, trash compactors, ovens, ranges, cooktops, vent hoods, air conditioners, portable heaters, humidifiers, grills, and more.

If I sell the appliance can I transfer the appliance extended warranty to a new owner?

Yes, you can. Contact CPS by calling 1 (800) 905-0443, and their customer experience team will be able to help you transfer your warranty to a new owner. A small $25.00 transfer fee applies.

I filed a claim, now what?

After you file a claim, CPS will get in contact with a local authorized service center who will come to your house to repair your appliance.

How do I file a claim?

You can file a claim by signing into your account on cpscentral.com and clicking file claim, or alternatively by giving CPS a call at 1 (800) 905-0443.

Can I use the standard plan for a commercially used appliance?

No, you cannot. If you are purchasing a major appliance for your commercial workspace, you will need to purchase our commercial plan.
